BI-ready exports

Datplan DataPull supports practical export workflows for reporting, review, support, and record keeping. Exports may include CSV, JSON, and fact plus dimension style star-schema outputs where the source and endpoint support them.

  1. Pull or refresh source data.
  2. Review dashboard, audit, or reconciliation outputs.
  3. Export the required data.
  4. Connect BI tools to the exported output and refresh after future pulls.

Star-schema exports

Star-schema exports are designed for BI tools that work well with fact and dimension style reporting tables. This can reduce the manual shaping normally required before connecting data to Power BI, Tableau, QlikView, and similar tools.

Star-schema export support depends on the selected source, endpoint, data type, and tier allowance.

Frequently asked questions

Can I export dashboard data?

Yes. Dashboards and sync records can be exported using the available export buttons. Exports may be used for review, reporting, support, or record keeping.

What is a star-schema export?

A star-schema export is a reporting-friendly output that separates facts and dimensions where supported. BI tools can connect to those outputs and refresh from updated Datplan export files after new pulls are run.

Can I use Datplan exports with Power BI?

Where supported, Datplan star-schema, CSV, and JSON exports can be used as reporting inputs for Power BI and similar BI tools.

Can I use Datplan exports with Tableau or QlikView?

Where supported by the selected output and BI tool, exports can be used with Tableau, QlikView, and other reporting tools that can read the exported files.

Are star-schema exports available for every endpoint?

No. Star-schema availability depends on the source, endpoint, selected data, and tier allowance.
