Authorised source access with local reporting storage
Datplan uses Intuit's OAuth flow and the user's authorised QuickBooks company. Provider passwords are not entered into Datplan.
Pull supported records
Datplan requests supported accounting records and reports using the granted OAuth access. Available data depends on permissions, subscription status and Intuit API availability.
Prepare data locally
Downloaded source records are stored in the local Windows app data and can be transformed into dashboards, CSV or JSON exports, and fact-and-dimension reporting tables.
What “QuickBooks Online to a local database” means here: QuickBooks Online remains the cloud system of record. Datplan does not connect to or expose Intuit's private backend database. The Windows app creates a refreshed reporting copy from supported QuickBooks Online API responses. Its local app database is not a real-time mirror, complete restore backup or supported general-purpose SQL, ODBC or DirectQuery endpoint.

Use incremental pulls where the QuickBooks endpoint supports a saved checkpoint. Shared daily pull credits apply across the companies on the plan.
Month-end confidence
Run one successful user-requested full re-pull per connected company in each UTC month. The initial pull is exempt; failed or cancelled attempts remain retryable.
Local outputs
Review the refreshed data in Datplan dashboards or write supported CSV, JSON and fact-and-dimension outputs to folders you control.

Datplan is not currently VAT registered, so no VAT is added to the prices shown. Prices and allowances shown in the signed-in app apply at purchase. Allowances do not roll over. Provider API limits and activity from other integrations can also affect available pulls. Incremental pulls use saved checkpoints where the provider and endpoint support them.

How can I extract QuickBooks Online data for Excel?
Authorise a QuickBooks Online company through Intuit in Datplan, pull the supported records and transform them into accounting reporting tables. Export CSV files for Excel, or use the structured tables and model guidance in Power BI and other BI tools. This source is QuickBooks Online; it is not a connector to a QuickBooks Desktop company file.
Can I schedule QuickBooks exports for Power BI?
Yes, within the selected plan’s schedule and pull allowances. Datplan updates the prepared files in a stable folder after a successful source run. The Windows PC, Intuit connection and output folder must be available. Power BI refresh and any gateway or service access are configured separately. See the QuickBooks to Power BI workflow.
Do I need to design reports after extracting QuickBooks data?
Choose the route that fits your needs. For custom Excel or Power BI reporting, use the prepared tables and the starter model where supplied. Datplan also includes 27 ready-made QuickBooks browser views with layouts and calculations already built. Try the supplied reports.
Does Datplan include ready-made QuickBooks Online browser reports?
Yes. Datplan supplies 27 ready-made QuickBooks Online browser views covering financial health, sales, purchases, ageing, inventory and Audit Analytics. Use completed supported DataPull reporting files; the report layouts and calculations are supplied. Power BI modelling is only needed if you choose to build a separate Power BI solution.
Is QuickBooks Online live-source access included with the free app?
No. The app and Datplan Demo are free. Choose and purchase a QuickBooks Online source plan inside Datplan DataPull when you are ready to connect a live account.
Do unused allowances roll over?
No. Monthly data allowances and daily pull credits do not roll over.
Can provider limits stop a pull?
Yes. Datplan allowances remain subject to provider API limits, source permissions, service availability and quota already consumed by other apps, integrations or users.
What is an incremental pull?
It refreshes from the last saved checkpoint where the provider and endpoint support that behaviour. It can reduce repeated download volume but does not bypass Datplan or provider limits.
Is production QuickBooks access available now?
Yes. QuickBooks Online is available as a production live source in Datplan DataPull. Download the app, sign in, choose a QuickBooks plan and authorise an eligible company through Intuit.
How often can QuickBooks run?
QuickBooks plans include 2, 5, 15 or 30 shared pulls per day depending on tier. Scheduling is available on every QuickBooks plan with a minimum interval of one day, subject to the plan's schedule count, monthly download allowance and Intuit availability.
Why use incremental pulls?
Incremental pulls request updates from the last saved checkpoint where the endpoint supports it, reducing repeated download volume. A month-end full re-pull can provide a deliberate periodic refresh; a mid-month incremental pull is normally sufficient for changes.
How is a QuickBooks full re-pull limited?
Each connected company can complete one user-requested full re-pull per UTC month. The first successful pull for a new connection is exempt, and a failed or cancelled full re-pull can be retried.
Where is QuickBooks source data stored?
Authorised QuickBooks datasets are downloaded through the Windows app into local app data and user-selected exports. Datplan's online services retain only the limited account, connection, token, usage and billing records needed to operate the service.
Can I disconnect QuickBooks?
Yes. Users can disconnect a QuickBooks company through Datplan where available and can also revoke the app from Intuit account settings. Disconnecting stops future access but does not automatically remove exports or reports already saved on the user's PC.
Does QuickBooks Online provide a local database that Datplan connects to?
No. QuickBooks Online remains cloud-hosted, and Datplan does not access Intuit's private backend database. After the user authorises a company, Datplan requests supported records and reports through the QuickBooks Online API and stores the resulting reporting copy in the Windows app's local data.
Can reporting tools query Datplan's local QuickBooks data through SQL or ODBC?
Not through a supported Datplan SQL, ODBC or DirectQuery interface. The local app database supports Datplan's desktop workflow. Power BI and other downstream tools should use the prepared CSV, JSON and fact-and-dimension exports.
