A direct API build is more than one web request
A custom Xero reporting pipeline normally needs provider authorisation, token handling, tenant selection, endpoint calls, pagination, rate-limit handling, incremental checkpoints, data shaping, local storage, error evidence and downstream refresh logic. It also needs ongoing maintenance when provider behaviour changes.
What Datplan handles for supported Xero data
- Provider authorisation and connected-organisation selection
- Supported endpoint requests and paged retrieval
- Standard and full pulls, with incremental checkpoints where reliable and supported
- Preparation of documented financial, invoice, payment and ledger reporting grains
- Local dashboard data, CSV, JSON and fact-and-dimension exports
- Run results, diagnostics and reconciliation evidence
Three choices, then sync
- WorkspaceChoose where this client or reporting dataset belongs.
- SourceSelect Xero.
- ConnectionSelect the authorised Xero organisation, test it and start the sync.
The app reduces the technical setup, but the user remains responsible for selecting the correct organisation, authorised scope and reporting purpose.
Use local dashboards or prepared BI files
Datplan can display local dashboards or export stable CSV, JSON and fact-and-dimension tables. Excel remains useful for ad hoc analysis, while Power BI, Tableau and Qlik can use the prepared files for more reusable models. Datplan does not generate the finished report or replace accounting review.
Schedule the repeatable part
Supported plans can schedule the selected workspace, source and connection once, daily, weekly or monthly. Choose the export type and a stable folder, then verify the first run. Scheduling automates the attempt; it does not guarantee that the PC, source service, permissions and provider quota will all be available.
No-code does not mean no boundaries
Datplan only claims the supported Xero endpoints and documented reporting grains. It is not an arbitrary API builder, write-back tool or complete Xero replacement. Where a use case needs an unsupported endpoint, custom write operations or specialist transformation, a custom integration may still be appropriate.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to write Xero OAuth or pagination code to use Datplan?
No for Datplan’s supported Xero workflow. The app uses the provider authorisation flow and performs its supported endpoint pulls and pagination. You still choose the organisation, review permissions and verify the result.
Does no-code mean every Xero API field and endpoint is supported?
No. Datplan supports the documented source endpoints, fields and reporting grains. It does not claim to expose every present or future Xero API capability.
Can I schedule a no-code Xero pull?
Yes on supported plans. Choose the workspace, Xero connection, frequency and output. The PC, internet connection, source authorisation, plan allowance and provider service must remain available.
